Another remote learning day for Pike High School, Pike Preparatory Academy due to ‘staff absences’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Several Metropolitan School District of Pike Township students will be attending classes remotely on Wednesday.

On Wednesday morning, the school system posted on social media that Pike High School, Freshman campus and Pike Preparatory Academy will all have a remote learning day “due to staff absences.”

The school system also said all other schools will be open and will be having in-person learning. However, the school did say that buses may be late.

This comes after the school system moved to an e-learning day for all schools in the system Tuesday, saying they were unable to provide transportation for students. Also, on Nov. 10, classes were canceled due to a high number of instruction staff absences.

An online petition now has parents calling for the resignation of the school’s Superintendent Flora Reichanadter
