Apartment fire sends 2 to the hospital

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two people are in the hospital following an apartment fire on the city’s northwest side that also caused significant damage to four units.
Firefighters with Pike Township Fire Department were called to the 8300 block of Hewlet Drive Sunday morning around 11 to a two-story apartment. That’s located south of West 86th Street.
When they arrived, firefighters saw heavy flames showing from the building.
Two people were injured, including one resident who jumped from the second floor, investigators said. They were taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
Officials are investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
