Arrest made in north side homicide

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An arrest has been made in a north side homicide, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police say 25-year-old Joseph Gonzalez has been taken into custody for the death of Sarah Serna.

At approximately 4:15 a.m. on Nov. 17, 2018, officers were called to the 200 block of West 32nd Street for a disturbance involving a man and a woman.

After arriving on scene, a female, suffering from blunt force trauma to head was discovered, Responding emergency medical personnel pronounced the woman, later identified as Serna, dead on scene.

Soon after authorities began their investigation, they were able to locate Gonzalez in the 2000 block of North College Avenue. He was then taken in for questioning and subsequently arrested for the woman’s death.
