Brooke discusses ‘celebration of life’ for Emma Noelle

Local

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Many people have been following the story of the life of Emma Noelle, the daughter of WISH-TV anchor Brooke Martin.

While pregnant with Emma Noelle, Brooke learned that baby Emma was diagnosed with anencephaly, a condition in which the baby’s skull does not develop. The condition is fatal.

Brooke carried Emma to term, giving birth on March 15. Emma lived for 21 minutes before passing.

On April 27 at 10 a.m., Traders Point Christian Church in Whitestown will host a celebration of life for Emma Noelle. Brooke and her husband Cole have invited the entire community to attend. Everyone touched by infant loss is encouraged to attend. If you would like your child’s name added to the display, click here.

If you are unable to attend, WISH-TV will stream the celebration of life on WISHTV.com, the WISH-TV news app and Facebook Live.

Brooke returned to the WISH-TV studios on Tuesday morning to discuss Saturday’s event.

“Shortly after the diagnosis for Emma, we started getting emails pouring in,” Brooke said. “Emails of support for us, but what I noticed is there were also tons of stories of other families who experienced infant loss. And I said to Cole, ‘babe, this is an issue.'”
