Carrier employees protest outside plant

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Keep our jobs here.

That was the message of protesters Wednesday outside the Carrier plant on West Morris Street.

Workers and some state lawmakers held signs and chanted their message.

Carrier announced in February it would be moving its plant to Mexico, nixing 1,400 Indianapolis jobs.

Sen. Dan Coats met with Carrier executives earlier this month to try to persuade them to stay, but he was told the company’s decision is final.
