Colts, mayor give drive-up Thanksgiving dinners

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Colts teamed up with Mayor Joe Hogsett to give back to the community ahead of Thanksgiving.

The team distributed food to 2,000 families in need.

Families chosen from community centers, schools and other organizations lined up at Lucas Oil Stadium to get a Thanksgiving meal.

Families received a turkey, side dishes and pumpkin pie.

This was the sixth year for this event.

Stephanie Pemberton of the Indianapolis Colts, “Every year the need is there, and we want to make sure we’re doing our part to give back and serve and to give families an opportunity to make sure they’re not stressed about being able to put a thanksgiving meal on the table for their family.”

Colts players delivered meals to families at three different community centers across Indianapolis. In total, 43,000 pounds of food was distributed.
