Community holds vigil for baby Amiah Robertson, last seen 1 year ago

Vigil for Amiah Robertson on anniversary of her disappearance

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It’s been a year since 8-month-old Amiah Robertson was last seen. The infant had been missing for two weeks when police announced her disappearance was being treated as a homicide.

Friends and family on Monday held a vigil in her honor to show their support for Amiah’s family and for the law enforcement officers who are working the case.

Amiah was last seen with her mother’s boyfriend, Robert Lyons, on the west side.

Indianapolis metropolitan police say Lyons remains a suspect in the case but has never been charged.

On Monday, IMPD released an update on their investigation saying their suspects remain the same and there are no new developments in the case.

Organizers of the vigil say they are grateful for the law enforcement officers working the case.

They say they are certain the detectives are fighting for answers.

“We started this journey a year ago and throughout there have been so many ups and downs. We still have not received answers and as Nikki said we just want to keep her name alive. We keep praying for justice to be done for her and we pray to find her very soon,” CC Hatton said.

If you have any information that can help police with their investigation, you’re asked to contact IMPD or call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
