Community Link: Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each week in Community Link Carolene Mays-Medley and Marco Dominguez take a look at an organization or business that is making a positive impact on the community.
The Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township is the ninth largest school district in the state and it’s growing fast.
The district’s superintendent, Dr. Shawn Smith, stopped by the studios to talk about the district’s growth.
“We’re seeing a resurgence in population,” Dr. Smith explained. “Over the last five years we’ve added over 1,200 students to our district.”
