Dandy Trail bridge over Eagle Creek to close for replacement

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Dandy Trail bridge over Eagle Creek will close on April 16 or later so the crossing can be replaced. 

The bridge is south of Eagle Creek Reservoir, between the Interstate 74 overpass and Crawfordsville Road (U.S. 136). 

The total construction cost of this project is $2.5 million, according to the Indianapolis Department of Public Works.

Local traffic can access residential areas until the bridge reopens, the department said. The planned reopening is expected by Nov. 15.

Here are detours to be posted by Public Works:

• Northbound: Traveling east on Crawfordsville Road, turn left onto High School Road and head north. Turn left onto 34th Street until reaching Dandy Trail Road.
• Southbound: Traveling west on Dandy Trail Road, turn left onto 34th Street and head east. Turn right onto High School Road until reaching Crawfordsville Road.
