Decatur Township Schools students showcase technology

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Decatur Township Schools students showed off their work with the latest technology on Tuesday night.

The district hosted its fifth annual Technology Showcase.

K-12 students displayed robotics projects, computer science, coding and more. The district said the showcase is designed to get more kids involved in technology. The program keeps growing as kids use more devices in and outside of school.

Jason Seaver, technology coordinator for the schools, said, “It’s very valuable to show the kids early on how to use technology properly. I think a lot of kids are used to getting devices in their hands during dinner with their parents, or they’re in front of the TV. But, really showing them safe ways to use the internet, safe ways to use research and use it for educational purposes, is vital to their success.”

Students from all nine Decatur Township Schools campuses participated.
