Dick Wolfsie takes a lesson from lead auctioneer of Mecum Auctions

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each and every week Dick Wolfsie shares a story unique to central Indiana.

This week Dick stopped by the state fairgrounds where Mecum Auctions is auctioning off rare and beautiful cars.

Dick spoke with Mark Delzell, the lead auctioneer with Mecum auctions. Delzell has been with the organization for 32 years. Surely Delzell has seen some incredible cars during his time there.

Delzell graduated from auction school in 1982 when he was 20 years old.

“I’m blessed by God. It’s a natural ability,” explained Delzell. “My son is in the business as well, as an auctioneer part-time, and he’s got the same ability, the same rhythm, same chant, and, you know, it helps to love what you do.”
