DPW is filling the pothole need

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Department of Public Works is sending out more pothole patching crews this week as the weather gets warmer.

According to a release, DPW will have 10 crews responding to potholes throughout Indianapolis on Wednesday. They will be focusing on main thoroughfares and residential areas.

“The safety of our residents is DPW’s top priority and part of that is making sure our crews are filling potholes when there isn’t snow to be cleared,” said Lori Miser, DPW director. “Our goal is always to complete pothole service requests as quickly as possible. The sooner a pothole is reported to the MAC, the sooner it can be filled.”

DPW is filling the potholes with a temporary patch. During the spring and summer, the patches will be replaced by permanent hot asphalt or the street may be resurfaced completely.

DPW is asking Indianapolis residents to report potholes so that they can be filled faster. Residents can also check where the city’s potholes are here.
