Drive-thru Christmas light display back at State Fairgrounds; reservations required

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A drive-thru display of synchronized Christmas lights will return Nov. 12 to the Indiana State Fairgrounds, organizers said Tuesday.

The display of more than a million LED lights covers 2 miles, said a news release issued Tuesday from the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center. Features include a singing snowman that’s over 20 feet tall, a life-sized Nativity, a Candyland exhibit, a giant American flag, and a 240-foot wall of lights, all from Tennessee-based Titan Light Shows. The light show includes a radio station for visitors to hear through their vehicles.

This year’s Christmas Nights of Lights, however, will require visitors to purchase their tickets online in advance to get timed reservations.

Ticket prices will be the same as in 2020: $30 per car with up to eight passengers riding together in one vehicle; $50 for 9-15 passengers; and $75 for 16+ passengers. Visitors will enter off 42nd Street at Gate 12 on the north side of the fairgrounds. Tour buses and limos with a capacity of more than 35 people will not be admitted. Vehicles must not be over 11 feet high.

The event will run through Jan. 2.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will help The Arthritis Foundation, Salvation Army, Indy Humane and local charities, the release said.
