INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Local law enforcement agencies will be conducting DUI checkpoints in Marion County starting Saturday night.
The efforts are in cooperation with the Marion County Traffic Safety Partnership and is part of the “Driving Under the Influence Indiana” project.
The project is aimed at reducing impaired driving-related motorcycle and vehicle crashes and it was funded through a grant from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Indiana State Police, Speedway, Cumberland, Lawrence, Beech Grove, Airport and IUPUI police departments will be involved with the partnership.
The first checkpoints will start Saturday, April 13 at 6:00 p.m. and the second will begin Saturday, April 27 at 6:00 p.m.
