Fatal shooting on east side overnight
UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Byron Miller.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives are looking for a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting overnight.
Police say they were called to the scene just after 12:30 am Tuesday. Officers say they initially responded to the area for a domestic disturbance and about a gunshot. Police say there were multiple calls to police from neighbors who heard the gunshots.
When officers arrived at the home in the 500 block of Rural Street, which is on the east side and just north of Michigan Street, they discovered a man shot. The male victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Investigators are trying to figure out the timeline of events. IMPD says they will not release the name of the victim until next of kin is notified.
