71-year-old woman dies in car-semi crash on State Road 32 near Lebanon

LEBANON, Ind. (WISH) — A 71-year-old female driver died after her car collided with a semitractor-trailer on Thursday afternoon on State Road 32 near Lebanon, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office said.

Boone County Communications Center received a call around 1:20 p.m. Thursday about a crash in the 4600 block of West State Road 32. That’s about 3 miles west of Lebanon.

Police found the heavily damaged car and semi in ditches on opposite sides of the road.

The female driver of the car died as a medical helicopter was preparing to take her to a hospital. The sheriff’s office identified the victim as Patricia Renick of Crawfordsville.

The male driver of the Elite Express semitractor-trailer was walking outside the vehicle as police tried to free the female driver from the car. He was taken to a hospital to be checked.

About 4 p.m., State Road 32 remained closed closed between County Road 500 West and County Road 400 West. The road was reopened around 7:30 p.m.
