First responders parade around St. Vincent Hospital in support of health care workers

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A group of emergency responders took time Sunday to give a huge sign of support to nurses and doctors on the front lines fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

On Sunday night right at the shift change time for hospital workers, Pike Township EMS and Fire departments honked and waved in a parade around the St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street, making two loops around the facility.

And outside, many health care workers were waiting and returning the greeting.

“I think it shows what a great partnership we have. Our organization and community partners are coming together during this time in crisis and it just uplifts everybody during this time,” Megan Thiele, EMS education instructor, said.

Hospital employees say seeing support like that really helps them through the day.
