FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — Riverside Intermediate School can get its goats.

The Fishers City Council on Monday night unanimously agreed to amend its development rules to allow miniature goats in the outdoor experimental learning space at the school at 11014 Eller Road. That’s along the White River north of 106th Street.

Riverside Intermediate will keep the two mother-daughter pairs in a fenced area adjacent to its existing chicken coop. A small goat house also will be built near the school.

A staff member of Riverside Intermediate, Kevin Johnson, will take care of the school’s goats.

The school has had chickens for three years.
