Former Colts player Robert Mathis set to plead guilty in DUI case

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Former Colts linebacker Robert Mathis is expected to plead guilty following his 2017 arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to court records.

Court records show that Mathis had been scheduled to go to trial Thursday but it has been canceled following the agreement of both parties in the matter.

Mathis is set to enter his change of plea during a hearing on March 12.

Police in Carmel said Mathis was intoxicated when he was driving on the wrong side of the median near Windermere Boulevard and Bishop Circle.

Mathis admitted to taking shots and a sleeping aid.

Authorities say his blood alcohol content was .052, which is below the legal standard for drunk driving.
