Kosciusko County, Ind. (WISH) — A Fortville man died after he was struck by a boat while tubing at a Kosciusko County lake Saturday night.

According to conservation officers with Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Nathaniel Mroz, 20, of Fortville, was one of three people riding on a tube behind a boat on Lake Wawasee around 6 p.m. Saturday before all three were thrown from the tube.

Mroz was stuck by the boat while the driver was attempting to get him and the other two individuals out of the water.

People onboard were able to grab Mroz, who was found unconscious, and pull him out of the water. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Authorities say Mroz was wearing a life jacket. All of the individuals involved in the incident are cooperating with authorities.

The investigation is ongoing.
