Franciscan Alliance to demolish Beech Grove hospital

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Franciscan Alliance is going to demolish its former hospital in Beech Grove.

The healthcare system said in a release that the preliminary deconstruction will begin in November.

The whole project is expected to take about 18 months.

“Over the years, we have worked closely with Beech Grove city officials and have given serious consideration to possible sale and lease alternatives, and we determined this is the best course of action,” said Kevin D. Leahy, president and CEO for Franciscan Alliance.

The hospital opened in 1914. In 2012, all of the inpatient and clinical and support services moved to the Indianapolis campus.
