Great Day TV: Heartland International Film Festival

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each and every week, Patty Spitler shares a fun, exciting and informative story connected to central Indiana.

This week, Patty and Craig Prater, president of the Heartland International Film Festival, stopped by the Daybreak studios to talk about some of the changes made for this year’s event due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I have to give credit to the staff this year, because when you learn early on in the year that you have no theaters, your offices are being shut down, film submissions are not coming in, you think ‘What are we going to do?’” said Prater. “All the event locations were shut [down], but the staff didn’t miss a beat.”

Prater said this year’s festival will feature drive-in theater showings and a “drive the red carpet” experience.
