Greenwood students offering free pickup, delivery of groceries for people amid virus spread

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — A group of students in Greenwood are lending a helping hand as some people struggle to find everyday essentials.

They have started a website that allows people at high-risk of complications from COVID-19 to request groceries and other items they may need from local businesses. The students are doing this free of charge beginning on Thursday.

They will call you for your list, shop for your groceries and then deliver them to your doorstep.

The service is a way for them to help some of the most vulnerable people in their community and the businesses who need the money.

“I feel like we’re very strong about helping the community and I feel like this is just a great way to allow us to use our talents to help people who are in need and we have nothing else to do so it’s like let’s help people so it’s awesome,” organizer and Center Grove High School senior Dylan Godsave said.

You do need to live within a certain area to be eligible for the service.

The group’s website has a map where service is available and a place for people to sign up.
