Husband, wife die from injuries in fiery Carmel crash

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — Police say a husband has died after his wife succumbed to heart problems resulting from a Monday morning crash on Ditch Road between 106th and 116th streets.

William Feasel, 76, was driving the car. His wife, Jeanne Feasel, 75, was the only passenger. They were from Carmel.

Six first responders were hurt trying to rescue the two from the fiery crash. It occurred before 11 a.m. Monday in the area of Ditch Road and Queens Way.

Police said they believe William Feasel lost control of the black 2017 Ford Fusion for unknown reasons, veered off the road and smashed the car into a tree before it landed on its side and caught fire.

Jeanne went into cardiac arrest at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital, where she died.

William suffered severe burns and was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, where he died.

No one saw the crash, police said. Speed was believed to be a factor.
