The crash happened around 1:15 a.m. in southbound lanes of the interstate near County Road 100 South, west of Muncie and north of Daleville. Lanes began to reopen at 8 a.m.

The tanker, driven by 35-year-old Jacob Morrisett from Tipton, was hauling 8,000 gallons of ethanol, according to Indiana State Police. Investigators say Morrisett lost control after drifting off the right side of the road and over correcting.

The truck overturned near the median, spilling about 2,000 gallons of ethanol onto the ground, according to police.

Delaware County Emergency Management and hazmat crews responded to clean up the spill.

Northboud traffic is being detoured to State Road 67 at the Daleville exit No. 234. Southbound vehicles are diverting off the interstate at State Road 332 exit No. 241.

No one was hurt.
