Illinois semi driver ID’d in fatal I-65 crash, fire
WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — Investigators have released the name of a semi driver killed in a crash on Interstate 65 on Sunday night.
The Whitestown Police Department said 42-year-old Jose Amador of Joliet, Illinois was killed in the crash.
Police said Amador’s semi slowed due to construction projects, then was rear-ended by another semi, leading to a fire. A secondary crash occurred involving three passenger vehicles.
No one else was injured in the crash.
An investigation is underway.
Police do not believe alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
