IMPD hosts first school safety meeting under Chief Riggs

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — IMPD has held over 80 community meetings since Chief Troy Riggs has taken the helm, but this was the first at a school.

Residents and parents of Heritage Christian School got together with police Wednesday evening. Together they discussed issues facing parents and students, as well as strategies for safety and faith-based solutions.

Chief Riggs says it starts with us.

“Roll up your sleeves, volunteer if you care about the future of your city and specifically young people, and if you’re just busy, consider writing a check or sending money to one of these fine organizations in our community that do so many good works,” said Chief Riggs.

IMPD is hosting another school community meeting in May with the IPS community.
