ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — An Indianapolis man died Sunday after a head-on collision in Zionsville.

Emergency responders were called to the 7600 block of West Oak Street, west of South County Road 800 East, around 1:42 p.m. Sunday on a report of a vehicle collision.

Boone County law enforcement and medics arrived to find a Home City Ice box truck on its side in the ditch on the north side of the road and a Toyota passenger vehicle in the ditch on the south side, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses told investigators that the Toyota crossed the center line and hit the box truck head-on.

It is not known whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was called to the scene to investigate.
