IndyCar announces Rev event honorary chairs in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It may be snowing outside, but it’s never too early to start thinking about May.

IndyCar driver Tony Kanaan and his wife Lauren will serve as the honorary chairs of the next Rev Indy celebration, IndyCar announced at its annual media dinner Thursday.

Rev Indy, an annual celebration that kicks off the month of May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, features local and celebrity chefs.

“I think IU Health has done a lot for the IndyCar family. They give a peace of mind to my wife at least when I’m racing and something happens to me. We’re in very good hands. So we are really, really humbled to be the chairs of a great event,” Tony Kanaan said.

Rev Indy is IU Health’s largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from the last five Rev Indy events have raised more than $2.5 million.

The event is scheduled for May 4, 2019.
