IndyHumane’s ‘Mutt Strut’ raises $140,000 for shelter

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — More than 1,000 people and their canine companions showed up and “strut their stuff” at Victory Field on Saturday for the 18th annual Mutt Strut, IndyHumane said.

The yearly event is IndyHumane’s signature fundraiser, and it’s the largest pet walk in the Midwest.

The event included a parade of adoptable pets as well as a costume contest. Winners of this year’s contest included a pup dressed as a chia pet and a Greyhound dog dressed as a Greyhound bus.

More than $140,000 was raised for the non-profit shelter during Mutt Strut, IndyHumane said.
