IPS crowns spelling bee champ
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Public Schools has crowned its spelling bee champ for the year.
Owen Norwalk with the Center for Inquiry School 84 won the competition on Friday. He won the competition by correctly spelling “wikiwiki,” which means quickly or fast in Hawaiian.
More than 40 students who had won contests at their schools came together to decide the champ.
Norwalk joined News 8’s Daybreak on Monday morning to discuss his victory.
