IPS school board approves pay raise for teachers

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Public Schools teachers are getting a raise.

The IPS school board approved a pay increase at its meeting Thursday night.

According to the district, all teachers are on two-year contracts.

In the first year, the plan provides a minimum raise of about $1,400. The maximum bump in pay a teacher could see in year one would be more than $2,600.

In year two, IPS says teachers get at least a $1,500 increase and a maximum raise of about $2,700.

The raise goes into effect on July 26.
