IPS ‘Summer Servings’ meal program underway

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The “Summer Servings” meal program through Indianapolis Public Schools is now underway.

It runs all summer and helps both kids and families eat while school is out of session.

Summertime is one of the busiest times of the the year for the IPS Food Service Department.

It feeds district students as well as non IPS students nutritious meals during school breaks and inclement-weather days.

This year’s program will offer free breakfast and lunch at some of locations throughout the district from June 11 through July 27.

New 8’s Joe Melillo was able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the program.
