ISP responds to fatal crash on I-465
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is dead after a crash on I-465 Friday morning, according to the Indiana State Police.
The fatal crash happened on I-465 NB close to mile marker 42 on the northeast side just before 6 a.m.
Indiana State Police Dispatch confirmed that the person killed was a pedestrian. Police say the man had been involved in an accident with a semi before being struck.
The man had parked his vehicle and was walking along the highway when he was hit.
According to ISP, the left two lanes in the area are currently closed. Police say delays are expected in that area for the next two hours and that drivers are being advised to seek alternative routes.
