Man arrested after standoff, attempted robbery on southeast side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is in police custody following a standoff and attempted robbery on the city’s southeast side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident happened at the Express Pantry on Minnesota and State Avenue as police say the male suspect, who was carrying knives, attempted to rob the store.
Police say that clerk was able to get out of the store and call police.
The man climbed into the roof.
SWAT was eventually called to the scene and that’s when the suspect surrendered to police.
No one was injured in the incident.
Police believe the man is responsible for three other robberies at the same location.
No suspect information has been released.
