Moms Demand Action hosts event honoring gun violence survivors

Moms Demand Action honors survivors of gun violence

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — The Indiana chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America met Thursday night to honor survivors of gun violence.

They met at a church in Carmel to make origami “soul boxes” to contribute to the national Soul Box Project.

This project aims to raise gun violence awareness.

The event was part of National Gun Violence Survivors Week.

Jenny Tomlinson, Hamilton County local group lead for Moms Demand Action, said, “We need every voice speaking out. That’s why I’m excited that so many people are here tonight to amplify the voices of survivors and to bring awareness to this really tragic gun violence epidemic.”

The final Soul Box Project will be on display in Washington, D.C., in October.
