Southwest to eliminate Indy to Newark route, reduce service to Boston

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Southwest Airlines on Tuesday announced plans to eliminate service between Indianapolis International Airport and Newark International Airport on Jan. 7, 2019 due to lack of passenger traffic on the route.

The last scheduled nonstop flight is slated for Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.

The airline will also reduce service between Indianapolis International and Boston Logan International Airport will be reduced from multiple nonstop flights to just one nonstop flight per day beginning Sept. 4.

That flight will be operated Monday through Friday beginning on that day.
