Storms knock out power, push over trees in Westfield

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Storms hit central Indiana Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning.

Now residents are dealing with the aftermath.

One of those areas hardest hit was Westfield in Hamilton County. Dozens of power polls and trees are down.

Hamilton County emergency management estimated that more than 30,000 people are without power in that area.

While power crews rushed to the area last night, it could be days before some Westfield residents regain power.

News 8’s Katie Wisely was in the area of 161st Street and Ditch Road to survey the damage.
