INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Local restaurants are kicking off a week-long celebration of food and drink in the Meridian-Kessler neighborhood.
“Eat Your Way Through MK” is an opportunity to support local eateries during typically slower business months.
“This is the hangover from the holidays. It’s still cold outside, people are waiting for the weather to get better,” said Chelsea Marburger with the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association.

Restaurants like Half Liter BBQ say they feel the pinch, especially during February.
“Our patio is full in the spring and summer. We have a fire pit, but winter is definitely slower,” said restaurant owner Eddie Sahm.
There are 18 venues taking part in “Eat Your Way Through MK” which runs from February 23 – 29.

“There are no deals or discounts. The whole point is to pay and support these restaurants that really help establish communities,” said Marburger.
As part of the fun, restaurant goers can take part in the EYWTMK challenge for a chance to win a $100 gift card to participating restaurants.
“You must eat out three times, but there is no minimum purchase! Take a picture of your food, post it to social media with the hashtag #EYWTMK2020 and tag us,” said Marburger.
