Suspect in vehicle pursuit wanted on child molestation warrant

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indiana State Police say the driver of a vehicle in a pursuit was wanted on a warrant for child molestation.

According to ISP, on December 28 around 10:30 p.m.on Shelby Street, officers were patrolling an area and noticed a vehicle with its headlights out.

Police say a vehicle pursuit then commenced when the vehicle in question refused to pull over.

The vehicle then proceeded to disregard the officers as it sideswiped vehicles and ran through several stop signs.  The car eventually came to a stop in the 1000 block of East Albany Street.

Police continue to say that both the driver, Joshua Finch, 21, and the front-seat female passenger were secured by police at that time.

During their investigation, the officers discovered that Finch was wanted on two warrants: one out of Morgan County for child molestation and the other from Marion County for failing to register as a sex offender.

Finch was transported to the Marion County Arrestee Processing Center.

A loaded handgun was also recovered during the search.

The passenger was not wanted and she was released.
