Indianapolis church blesses pets, opens new pet food bank

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A northeast-side church opened a new pet food bank Saturday afternoon.

Dozens came out with their furry friends for the soft opening of The Stable at Nativity, located right by The Church of the Nativity on Lantern Road.

Dogs and cats were blessed right before the opening of the food bank.

“It’s just wonderful,” said the Rev. Deacon Karon Sullivan. “It’s not just dogs and cats; we’ve blessed tarantula, donkeys, parrots and all kinds of pets. So this is a big day for us and we’re just delighted to share it with our furry friends.”

The food bank with be open every second Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
