Vintage car show brings smiles to Shelbyville nursing home residents

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A group of people brought smiles to those in nursing homes during a difficult time by taking part in a rolling car show.

Hundreds of drivers visited multiple nursing homes and a hospital in Shelbyville while showing off their vintage cars. Most patients in those facilities are not allowed to leave because of the pandemic.

Brandtley Miller came up with the idea and believes this came at a perfect time.

“It’s what we needed, there’s so many people that are on quarantine and just can’t get out,” said Miller. “I think if you’re able to get out and take advantage of that and make them smile, it’s well worth it.”

Miller said there could be another car show, but as of now there isn’t one in the works.
