Ways to cope with the stress of a pandemic
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — As the coronavirus pandemic continues to cripple nations throughout the world, some individuals may be experiencing anxiety or other mental health problems for the first time.
Dr. Danielle Henderson, a clinical psychologist with IU Health, shared some ways individuals can manage that stress.
“I’m definitely hearing people talk about their frustration with how long this has been going on,” said Henderson. “I’m also hearing frustration (from people) with not being able to be active in the same way that they used to be.”
Henderson recommends that people should stick to a daily schedule, stay connected with others through technology and reach out to professional therapists and counselors to talk through the stress and anxiety.
