WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — A police officer in Westfield had the chance to meet the woman whose life he helped saved using an automated external defibrillator.

Officer Wade Burtron responded to a cardiac arrest call in January.

Burtron had a newly issued AED with him.

He used that along with CPR to save the woman. He received the device from “Bolt for the Heart.”

The organization works to provide AEDs in every law enforcement vehicle in Indiana. It has donated more than 800 AEDs so far.
