Westfield Washington Schools to hold ‘Parent University’

WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — One school district is inviting parents back to the classroom. Westfield Washington Schools is holding an event called “Parent University”

It will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 1 and is for parents with students in the district. 

There will be workshops for parents to attend. 

Some of the topics include e-learning, internet safety, the district’s safety plan, testing and much more. 

There will also be businesses and organizations that provide a variety of services and resources for families to explain what they do. 

“We really want to provide them with education and information that really meets their needs and so while this is a one-day opportunity, because we’ll have sessions in the morning and in the evening, we want this to kind of be a continuing conversation to see the feedback that we get will also provide us with additional information on how we can follow up,” said the district’s superintendent, Dr. Sherry Grate. 

Parent University will be held at Westfield High School. 

There will be two sessions. One in the morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and one in the evening from 6 am to 8 am.

The event is free.
