Greenfield-Central Schools:

• What you need to know this year: Students in grades 7-8 will now receive a Macbook laptop as part of their textbook fees. This digital device will be the primary instructional tool for these students. Also, an alternative education facility with its own daily schedule and curriculum, will now be available to identified high school students. Greenfield-Central School Corporation will also be opening a high school alternative school option, the expansion of the digital learning initiative (7-12 one to one and 4-6 having daily use of laptops), and the expansion of the fine arts programming/staff.

Hamilton Southeastern Schools:

• School starts: August 10
• What you need to know this year: There will now be assistant principles in K-4 buildings. Also iPads are required for K-8 students; laptops required for grades 9-12. Rental options available.

Hamilton Heights School Corporation:

Indianapolis Public Schools

Madison-Grant United School Corporation:

• School starts: August 8
• What you need to know this year: This year parents will be given the option of paying school and lunch fees online using a credit card. There will be a link for online payment set up at the end of the online registration forms.

Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township:

• School starts: August 4.

Metropolitan School Distrcit of Perry Township:

• School starts: July 27.
• What you need to know this year: Lunch prices increase by 10 cents.

Mississinewa Community Schools:

• School starts: August 10.

Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation:

• School starts: August 1.
• What you need to know this year: Students will continue iPads and Chromebooks. Parents can purchase insurance again this year. There will also be a delayed start on Wednesday’s to provide teachers with professional development activities.

Nettle Creek School Corporation:

• School starts: August 3.

• What you need to know this year: New superintendent Dr. Sherry Grate started in July. Students will see ongoing construction at two of the six elementary schools – Washington Woods and Oak Trace. Construction should wrap up a year from now.
• Westfield Washing is also asking voters to vote on a referendum to help fund the people and programs of WWS.
