INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It’s taken three years to develop the White River Vision Plan.

On Monday, tourism and government leaders finally released their vision.

According to their website, the White River Vision Plan is a collaborative effort between Hamilton and Marion counties in order to develop the 58 miles of the White River in those two counties.

The director of the Department of Metropolitan Development for the city of Indianapolis, Emily Mack, and the president and CEO of Hamilton County Tourism, Inc., Brenda Myers, both stopped by Daybreak Tuesday.

They discussed why it took three years to develop the plan, plans to improve the water quality and how they are going to draw individuals to the White River.
