INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Wednesday is World Mental Health Day and Thursday is National Depression Screen Day.
According to the World Health Organization, half of all mental illness beings by the age of 14. Depression is the third leading cause of mental illness in teens.
Dr. Christina Davis, clinic director at the Counseling Center at Christian Theological Seminary, stopped by Midday Wednesday.
She discussed why it’s so important to reach out to help yourself and others who may be suffering, some advice for parents with teens who may be dealing with a mental illness and explained what exactly is involved in a depression screening.
