World of Wheels runs through Sunday at State Fairgrounds

World of Wheels begins at State Fairgrounds

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The 61st annual World of Wheels got underway Friday night at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

People packed into the Blue Ribbon Pavilion to see hundreds of custom and classic cars.

The event runs until Sunday and will feature special guests including former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Tony Stewart and “Fast and Furious” actor Cody Walker on Saturday and “Dukes of Hazard” star John Schneider on Sunday.

For the owners of the vehicles it’s not just a car show, but it’s also a competition.

“People are saying ‘Man, I’d hate to be a judge, this car, even though they’re different, they have good attention to detail,” said Doc Riley, truck competition commentator.

General admission for adults is $19 at the gate and $6 for kids who are 6-12 years old. Children 5 and ypunger are free and parking will cost $8.

Proceeds will benefit Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana
