Zionsville mom delivers locally made cakes to dozens nominated by community

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A Zionsville mom is spreading joy during the coronavirus pandemic using cake.

Nicole Adams recently decided to donate 10 cakes to those nominated by fellow moms. Adams said the cakes have been delivered to those doing service work during the pandemic, like making masks, and also to those struggling either emotionally or financially.

The cakes from Serenity were quickly spoken for and instead of stopping there, Adams and a growing group of donors, decided to keep the effort going. Now, more than 50 cakes have been delivered.

“I don’t know many people who don’t have something come to the door unexpectedly, especially something sweet, that isn’t happy for that and grateful, so I would say from the beginning it’s been about spreading love and joy,” Adams said.

Adams hopes more people start the Pay it Forward with Cake effort in other areas of Indiana and across the country by partnering with chefs and bakeries in their local area.

If you would like to make a donation to the effort or pay for a cake to be delivered to someone special you know, you can call Serenity in Zionsville at 317-873-5590.
